Happy new year to all! I thought it would be nice to kick off the new year well on this blog, by releasing Blogo's newest version, 1.70. As with most Blogo releases, this is an evolutionary update, containing some new features, usability improvements and bug fixes. Amongst the improvements are the all-new IP tracing of comments along with a block list you can manage, the ability to re-publish entries using the current date, better RSS feeds and a more robust search. Hereby I will discuss one of the new features. As of now, new comments posted on your Blogo site have IP information in them, as can be seen from the comments view:

For the comments that have IP information in them, the block action is enabled (stop sign icon). When you click the icon, and confirm the block action, that specific IP can no longer post comments on your site. The IP in question is actually added to the IP block list. You can conveniently maintain this list from the web panel:

This particular feature is available on top of the automatic comment spam prevention mechanism. It makes Blogo even more robust in running an internet blog in the real world.
