Google Analytics & s3maphor3 »

Some great Google news. They launched a new statistics service for websites, which can be used for free if you're under 5 million page views per month. It's been well over a year since I outsourced my hosting, but haven't seen any statistics since, which makes me a curious man.
Therefore, I immediately implemented this in my blog template. I don't really like hard-linking branded services like this in my template, therefore I implemented it in a generic way. In the blog setup form, I added an extra field in the advanced section. There you can include any script you like, whether it's for statistics, ads, or anything else. Basically the contents of the field will be placed in the header section of every page. In the screenshot below you can see how I inserted the Google Analytics script:
This update is not yet publicly available. I'm going to implement a few more small changes, and package a public update by the end of the week. I know I've broken promises on blog template updates before, so I'll be sure to stick to the plan this time.
Note: So far the Google Analytics service is a tad unreliable. I experienced it to be unavailable several times. At best, it's terribly slow. Let's hope things get better.
