Why I added ads to my site »

Look at the right-side menu bar to see how I added Google ads. I've long thought about whether or not to add ads. I've now chosen to evaluate them with the following in mind:
- Because nowadays it is more acceptable. Everybody is doing it.
- The ads are not intrusive or put a smudge on the site, I enhanced the color scheme so that it fits into my site, yet making it obvious that it concerns an ad
- 75% of my readers come into this site via Google. They will be used to ads and often are one-time visitors. The regular readers often check this site using a news reader, which does not include the ads. Therefore, it looks like this should not bother anyone seriously
- To make a buck. This is by no means a high traffic site, but any financial compensation for such a time consuming hobby is welcome
- To learn a thing or two about internet advertising systems

I'm thinking of how to use this, it will require an update to my blog software, or I have to update the HTML of hundres of entries manually. I think I'm gonna go with the software update, while I'll keep an eye on the ad relevance for now. Thanks for your help! «

Add a <!-- google_ad_section_start --> to the start of your content section and a <!-- google_ad_section_end --> at the end. «
