Please avoid my portfolio site (s3maphor3.org) »
FERDY CHRISTANT - DEC 3, 2008 (06:57:53 PM)
For those of you who have been following along, my portfolio site (s3maphor3.org) has been hacked recently. I thought I fixed the issue, but it keeps coming back. After some advise from a reader and a bit of Googling I found out that many customers of the hosting provider are having the same issue. My requests for support have been returned with blame only, therefore I have decided to move the site.
For now, this means that s3maphor3.org should be avoided, as it may be hacked again. I have initiated the domain transfer, so soon it will not be available at all. As soon as I have control over the domain again, I will put up a temporary page with the most important resources from the site.
On the longer term (a few weeks or months), I intend to turn this negative experience into a learning moment. I am considering rebuilding the site in a CMS like Joomla or Drupal. Take that, hackers and crappy provider!

Thanks. Right now I'm leaning towards Drupal, mostly because it is newer and takes web standards more serious. With zero experience under my belt, I'll soon dive in. Perhaps I will discover that I indeed need that book

Isn't Symfony mostly for building web apps, much like CakePHP and Code Igniter? I'm looking for a CMS to build a website, not a web app. Or, is Symfony also a CMS? «

As an alternative, you can always look for modules at http://drupalmodules.com . «

Of course the obvious choice is Expression Engine ;-)
