Power tip: In-Page analytics »

Last week I shared a tip on how you can easily track your site speed with just one line of code. Today I discovered by accident a feature in Google Analytics that is even more powerful: In-Page Analytics.
As a website owner, you will want to know where people click on. Sure, in Analytics you can check the page views per page, but that is not the same. There may be multiple paths to that page, so how will you know where the user came from? There have been ways in Google Analytics to figure this out, but they are not exactly trivial, at least not to an Analytics beginner like me.
All of this changes with In-Page analytics:
Right inside Analytics, you can visually see your page, and each link will have statistics on it. For example, on the above JungleDragon homepage, I learned that 13% of all users seeing this page click on the "Photos" link in the global navigation bar.
This is so powerful. With a reasonable amount of stats, you can directly draw conclusions on what parts of your pages are working, and which parts are not, and optimize your design based on this.
