About the Author

My name is Ferdy Christant, age 28, and I am born, living and working in the Netherlands. After graduating in computer science in 2000, I started working with Lotus Notes/Domino for a contracting company called Ordina, who sent me to Royal Philips Electronics, the Netherlands. Not just any Lotus customer it is, with it's 110,000 Lotus Notes seats and thousands of apps!

After pushing the Notes limits for 3 years at Philips as a contractor, I obtained a permanent position within the company. This is where I currently am. I have over 7 years of experience with Lotus Notes/Domino and hold a PCLP certificate for R4.6, R5 and R6. Within the scope of the Notes/Domino platform, I'm specialized in performance tuning, web development and class design. Additionally, I'm a Sun Certified Java Programmer 1.4 and a Websphere Associate Developer. My actual development role has changed lately, I'm more involved in analysis, architecture and project management now. Nevertheless, my strong interest in programming did not fade away.

About the Blog

I started this blog in 2004 for various reasons:

  • As an outlet for my opinion, creative voice, and experiences
  • To serve and be part of a community
  • To practice and learn about web development
I will, however, strongly focus on the professional aspect of my life. This blog runs on the s3maphor3 blog engine, a free Lotus Domino-based blog tool that I developed and maintain.
