Closing the year...with an article for you »

FERDY CHRISTANT - DEC 22, 2006 (10:19:07 AM)

What better way than to close the year with an article. It is published, the all-new Advanced Domino TinyMCE integration article. I hope you like it.

I'm not much of a person looking back, but I would still like to mention some highlights of 2006 for me:
  • I'm no longer single. I met a great girl, one that actually tolerates me :)
  • At work, I got promoted to a more responsible function where I oversee technology across platforms and regions.
  • Hobby-wise, I continued to blog and write articles (8 of them this year). Furthermore, the s3maphor3.org brand has been launched more formally by a more professional, dedicated site. This year, new releases of Blogo have been published and a new project was introduced: PIMB. I also successfully introduced Google ads on my blog, and page views have tripled since last year.
  • PHP development is now added to my core skills, along with a certification.
  • My financial situation has improved. More comes in, and I spend less.
There is always more to be desired, but I'm happy as is. Hereby I share some of my targets for 2007:
  • I'm healthy but could be healthier. I need to quit smoking permanently and use the mountain bike more.
  • Do what I have to do at work in my new role, and do it well.
  • Adopt .Net development as a core skill to my portfolio. Luckily, work will help out here.
  • Read more books. I can't seem to finish them. I hate reading dry tech books.
  • Continue blogging and writing articles.
  • Release my PIMB project to the public.
  • Start working on a new s3maphor3 project: Truncky
  • Play around with Ruby on Rails, perhaps use it to develop Truncky
  • Have a holiday for once, instead of taking days of to do hobby coding
I will most likely not accomplish all of them, but the ambition is there.

I'll take of for the year by wishing you happy holidays and a happy new year. Thanks for reading my site, I hope to see you here next year!
