Once again I used my Tech Friday to work on Blogo.NET. Below are the updates since last time.

Blog entries now also display the author of the entry, since Blogo.NET is a multi-user blog engine. Furthermore, the comment panel is now in place. It is quite basic but works nicely. Validation and HTML stripping are included:

 With the comment panel done, it was time to work on the last user-facing element of Blogo.NET: RSS feeds. I have implemented feeds for blog entries, articles and comments which appear in the sidebar on every page:

With the user-facing screens done, I moved on to the Admin screens, which I expect to take the most development work. Basic admin screens for listing blog entries, comments and users are in place. Records can be deleted directly from these overviews, after a confirmation:

The blog entry overview only has the select (to open an entry) and delete working, creating/editing a blog entry is still a major todo. The comment and user overviews do have the ability to create/edit records though:

Quite a lot of progress in just a few hours. At this point of development I'm glad I built a solid business and data access layer backend before developing the pages. It makes creating these UI pages child's play.

Up next is some work on making the user password handling more sophisticated, developing the blog entry admin sceens, implementing security and much more. I'm not lookig forward to the blog entry form, it will be complex.

I'm hoping you're not getting tired of these Blogo.NET updates yet. It's the project on my mind now when I have free time available. I'm trying to make a lot of progress in a relatively short time and come to a basic release in a matter of weeks.
