JungleDragon and Unicode »

FERDY CHRISTANT - NOV 11, 2008 (04:32:00 PM)

The image you see above is a zoomed-in fraction of the comments section of JungleDragon. It is in fact showing the body of a single comment...in Unicode.

Surely this little demonstration will not blow your mind, but it delights me to have the basics working and I just had to celebrate and express it. You see, dealing with Unicode in a LAMP application is no easy task, one that I grossly underestimated. If you forget one of the many bits required to support the input, storage and displaying of Unicode, all goes to waste. The above is a major breakthrough after a long struggle.Although there are more Unicode problems to solve, I hereby promise a detailed article for the near future.
