JungleDragon celebrates 5,000 awesome wildlife images »

Today JungleDragon celebrates the 5,000 images milestone reached. In good tradition, a wildlife donation is made for every 1,000 images shared. This time the donation of 100 EUR/80 GBP goes to the British Beekeepers Association. It may not be a donation cause you'd expect, until you learn about the importance of bees in our overall ecosystems. Mr Dragon will be matching this donation amount, resulting in a double donation for the BBA.
Thanks for everyone that contributed. 5,000 images seems like a modest number, but it's actually quite a large collection to explore and adore. And they're good images. Generally of a high quality, well described, often geotagged, and almost all of them linked to species. They have meaning. You can open any photo and learn what you're looking at. What its called, what it eats, how it migrates, where it is distributed, what the related species are, you can see it move in a video. All because of a unique identification system and a tireless community of volunteers that identify species, for the simple reason that they love doing it.
Of course we're hungry for more. I'm proud of the community, the site and the content we have collectively produced, and the only way will be up. Here's to the next 1,000 images, and the next donation. Keep sharing, keep caring.
